8 Course Welsh Tasting Menu

During our special April Welsh weekends, we hold a Welsh tasting experience in the restaurant. An 8 course marathon of delicious, locally inspired foods. Each course is carefully prepared by our team of chefs and served one after the other to the restaurant as a whole. A truly decadent evening guaranteed to be enjoyed by all food lovers.


Cheese Pudding (V)

A classic dish combining cheese, eggs, and breadcrumbs served with a small green salad tossed with olive oil and balsamic dressing


Slow Roasted Belly Pork (GFo)

with black pudding, spiced apple, pink peppercorns, and a honey reduction


Leek, potato, and watercress cawl (GF) (V)

A Welsh broth like soup full of flavour


Salad of Cured Ham and Conwy Smoked Salmon (GF)

Served in a warm dressing of olive oil, lemon juice, and spring onion


Prince of Wales Feathers (GF) (Ve)

A refreshing lemon sorbet with a spike of Abergavenny black mountain liqueur topped with cinder toffee


Mains

Roast Leg of Welsh Lab with Special Seasoning (GFo)

Minted mash, laver bread crisp, glazed in a red wine, redcurrant and rosemary jus

Pan Seared Fillet of Sea Bass (GFo)

With a garden herb linguine and y fenni cheese sauce

Glamorgan Sausages (V)

A traditional vegetarian sausage served with a mixed leaf salad and fruit chutney

Tomato, Olive, and Cauliflower Bake (Ve)

Topped with flaked almonds

The above dishes are served with the chef’s daily selection of potatoes and vegetables


Desserts

Welsh Cakes

served with home made bara brith ice cream and butterscotch sauce

Special Recipe Rhubarb Crumble

with a Penderyn whisky sauce

Selection of Welsh and Continental Cheeses with Biscuits
