The Tynedale Hotel is situated opposite the bandstand on the central promenade,
Gloddaeth Crescent. To the front of the property is a block paved terrace with
level access from the pavement to the seating area. There are no steps to the
main entrance of the hotel access is by a large ramp leading directly from
the pavement to the double doors of the main building.The main entrance leads
on to the reception lounge and foyer where there is a charging point for electric
scooters and wheelchairs. The ground floor public rooms are all located on
the level and follow an open plan lay out consisting of main lounge, bar and
bar lounges, cabaret room with small stage and dance floor, public toilets
and adapted toilet. We have two double / twin rooms with level access on the
ground floor and three single rooms and one additional ground floor room with
a 150mm step into the room. Please note access to these rooms do not offer
1000mm door entry therefore we have a narrow wheelchair on site that can be
used by our clients.
We have one adapted room number 55 located very close to the reception desk.
The room is double or twin bedded with oversize shower with tip up seat and
grab rails and pull bars to the door, w.c. and sink. Please note this is not
a wet room the oversize showertray has a lip of 110mm from the tiled floor.
The Restaurant is located on the lower ground floor we will endeavour to find
a suitably accessible table within close proximity of the lift and special
diets are always well catered for. The lift is a four person passenger lift
the access opening is 685mm wide and the floor space in the lift is 825mm x
940 mm, therefore not all wheelchairs will fit in the passenger lift. We have
an adapted wheelchair that fits in the lift, alternatively we can arrange for
meals to be taken in the bar lounge or sunlounge.
The car park is located at the rear of the hotel and is accessed by an external
staircase of 15 steps. If you are arriving by car please notify us of your
time of arrival or telephone our reception team on 01492 877426 and we will
meet you at the front of the hotel for assistance with your luggage, parking
bays are provided by the council for badge holders.
All other guest rooms in the hotel are accessed by passenger lift or stairs.
Room location and the number of steps to any room once exited from the lift
is detailed on the confirmation of booking. Please note that where a room says
shower only this is a shower cubicle raised off the floor and if a room states
shower and bath the shower is located over the bath tub. The lift can not be
used in the event of a fire.
